It's been two, extremely chaotic, years since the release of the original FTR EP. The time is near for a new era of Free the Robots music. What to expect? Lets just say it tells the story of my personal struggle and progress during a life altering time. I've shed unimaginable amounts of blood, sweat & tears, following a dream, come true(The Crosby). I won't go into any details. All i can say is the balance of sanity and insanity all went into this record which i will soon be sharing with you!

Stay tuned for, "CTRL ALT DELETE," due mid March 2010 under Alpha pup Records!

I don't care how strait edge you are. If you witnessed Nosaj's Visual/Beat show, you went on a Psychedelic trip! I'm still trying to recoup... If you were lucky enough to catch this, you would know, this was easily one of the most epic nights to remember. Big ups to Mono/Poly, Eskmo, Teebs, Kutmah and the entire Brainfeeder camp for yet another inspirational movement in Los Angeles.

The Crosby... Haunted??

Some recent events have been creeping me out. It seems we've awakened the ghost of Santa Ana's past in our basement.
aside from all of the noises i hear, which i usually brush off blaming it on the fact that the building was built in the late 1800's, their have been some weird incidences that actually now connect beyond the creeching and footsteps.

the other night our dishwasher, Ramon, was wrapping up heading to the storage room for the nightly beer-restock. he noticed all the lights were off. pretty odd, the lights are never off. Through the darkness he made his way to the storage room door. As he tried to open it he felt a resistance as if someone was pushing back against it. He tried to reach in behind the door to turn on the light and felt something like cloth on his arm. Thinking it was someone changing, or something, he pulled back and decided to wait for a few seconds.
"anyone here?"
no reply...
After a few seconds he tried again, and the door swung open fine, but no one was in sight. nothing but dead silence and an erie vibe that resonated through the walls. He checked all the rooms...nothing...

When he told me what happened i was a little weirded out. I could see it in his eyes and he swore by it. I kinda tried to put it behind me. it could have been him trippin'...but was it?

the next night, our manager Dante, ended up crashing out in the office (why? i don't know). at about 4 am the motion alarm went off. Strange... no one was in the building.
He proceeded to turn off the alarm look around.
"whos there?"
no one in sight.

In The Crosby motion detectors can be triggered by any slight/major movements, breach of a window, or the opening of a door. Their are about, 4 strategically placed, detectors in the dining, bar & kitchen, and one in the storage room where the incident with Ramon took place.

Dante checked the dining and the kitchen but passed up on the storage room because the door was closed. theirs only one way to get in there so he figured its cool. Must've been some sort of malfunction.

Over the next couple of days the motion detector continued to go off at random. I figured it was something wrong with the system, so I called Brinks to come out and fix the problem. The Brinks Security system is so accurate they can track exactly when, where, and why an alarm was triggered. It turns out that the triggers are coming from the Storage room where the Ramon incident happened. how can something be moving inside a an empty locked room with one entrance and one exit?

These Warehouse parties bring me back! Despite the lack of Sub frequency in such a Gianourmous warehouse space, this turned out to be a Pretty Freshh show. Thank you all who came out' energy was HYYYPE! (big up to the Gaslamp Killer for Rockin' the Mic)..

Talk about obscure instrumentation. The Theremin is one of the earliest electronic musical instruments, and the first musical instrument played without being touched. My friend Randy has mastered the art. Kept alive and "semi-popular" these days by bands like Portishead, Devotchka, and uhh... i guess thats it.

you like eerie space music? well it doesn't get any spacier than this. except this guy has pretty much taken the theremin where no one has before' Do it up Randy!

(NARANJA COUNTY) every 16th of September is the Mexican Fiesta par excellence! On this day Mexicans all over the world celebrate Mexico’s independence from Spanish rule. The Fiesta of Santa Ana will be held on the weekend of the 13th & 14th in Downtown OC. Downtown OC?? what the fuck is that?

its a city called Santa Ana.. You might not have the view of a white sandy beach or feel the fresh ocean breeze in these parts.. but a front porch, a few lawn chairs, some carne asada and a couple Coronas can work wonders!

this a place where the Lowriders lurk, the workers work, and artist actually can find inspiration. For some reason Orange County has a way of separating the Culture and Lifestyle between the North and the South sides of town. Come to Santa Ana on the weekend of Semptiembre 13th and 14th and you'll see what North Naranja County is all about.

Hello. If you've ever been to The Crosby on a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or sometimes 5th Thursday you may have either:

1.) been super weirded out because you listened to five tracks in a row that you've never heard, got bummed out and left..

2.) been super weirded out, but decide to stick around because we have Chimay for $6 on tap. one beer turns to two, ("this isn't that bad") two the three, and so on.. then you're that cat at the end of the night saying, "hey dude, man i like, love you guys man." then go next door, buy an issue of Juxtapoz, head home and give Buffalo 66 another chance.

3.) been super weirded out by everything else and resorted to The Crosby because you've been tired of the same thing, night after night, and by some strange fate you found your calling with the sounds of M.H.D.

Life in the carpool lane..
From handling the daily operations of The Crosby, To working on the next Free The Robots record, while doing small tours and gigs, a Normal life only exists on Sundays at this point. The work week is pretty fucking crazy! Thanks to you fun folks, I am still sane, still inspired, and still alive. Here are some photographs I've been taking over the past couple months. i tend to take a lot of shots as a visual diary... its just for fun.

Heres just one recommendation from the crates. over the past few months I've been listening the this band, Black Moth Super Rainbow. These guys got it together... a serious signature sound that had me hooked for awhile now. i just got word that Tobacco (of Black Moth) will be finally releasing his solo project this October.
